There are two main parts to this blog: the Least Used Stations and the Opinions Section.
The Least Used Stations area details my visits to all the stations in the country with an annual patronage of under 1000. I also visit the stations in the bottom 100 and many others which have low patronages, infrequent services or a very remote location. I post every time I visit one of these wonderful pieces of railway trivia. So far I have visited 20 stations of the 54 that are under 1000, and another 17 which I have also deemed of interest.
The Opinions Section details my views on a variety of matters. This usually involves the UK railway network, but I have written articles on other subjects. Specific articles have covered: the problems with (and possible solutions to) the North Highland Lines; an analysis of why the Rail Delivery Group's fare plans will make things worse; and a critique of the actions of the principal of the University of Edinburgh during the strike action in 2018.
